ŁYBACKA Krystyna Maria

Krystyna Łybacka was born on February 10, 1946, in Jutrosin. At the age of 19 she has finished her education at high school in Rawicz.
She studied mathematics at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (department mathematically - physically – chemical), which she graduated in 1968.
She is employed from 1968 in Institute of Mathematics of the Poznan University of Technology. In yearsof 1968-91 she fulfilled function of technical and scientific secretary of the Polish Mathematical Society . From 1986 to 1991 she was a chairman in the Polish Teachers` Union in Poznan at University of Technology . She is a member of the Woman Democratic Union. From 1978 to 1989 she was a member of the Polish United Worker's Party.
She has started her political activities in 90`s. In 1993 she joined to SdRD. After the 1991 election she has became a member of the polish parliament at I, II, III, IV,V, VI and VII terms. She was engaged in parliamentary works of commissions: The Education, Science and Youth Committee, The Administration and Internal Affairs Committee The Constitutional Committee, National Defence Committee, The Extraordinary Committee of Ratification Concordat. She was also the leader of polish-french bilateral group.
From 1996 to 1999 she was the chairman of the Wielkopolska Regional Council of Polish Socialdemocratic Party, and from 1999 to 2007 president of the regional structure of Democratic Left Alliance. In December 1999 she became the vice-president of the National Management of Democratic Left Alliance.
She was holging the role of Minister for National Education and Sport in the Leszek Miller government. In the years 2004 - 2005 vice-president of the Democratic Left Alliance Parliamentary Club. Actually she is vice-president of the parliamentary Education, Science and Youth Committee. In the polish parliament Krystyna Łybacka represents polish socialdemocratic thoughts. Her activity, in a big part, is devoted on cases of education. In spite of tense plan of parliament works, she has not resigned it.

She is consequent and in operation benevolent, insistent optimist. She values truthfulness, wisdom and honesty. She doesn’t like political hypocrisy. She is interested in: literature, philosophy, theater and painting.
